Bygones of Monroe:
Mulligan Guards
We stated in our last issue that Mr. Samuel H. Cooper, was raising a company for the Mulligan Regiment. He has since obtained a commission as Captain, and is now actively engaged in recruiting this company. The Regiment is to Rendezvous here, and some of the men are expected here very soon. We understand bunks are to be put in the building on the Fair Ground, for temporary use until tents can be procured. A Company of sharp shooters, and a park of artillery will be attached to the Regiment. We hope Captain Cooper’s Company will speedily filled.
