Kid volunteers wanted!
Travel back in time to the 1860s and enter the world of a Civil War soldier from Monroe. This will be a hands-on experience for students who have completed the 4th to 6th grade. Camp activities will include marching, setting up camp and the taste of hardtack.

The Monroe County Library System celebrates National Poetry month with a poetry contest, poetry readings, open mic nights and more!
Help celebrate 100 years at Dorsch Memorial Branch Library! This year’s theme is 100 Years Ago. Give us your interpretation of history, whether it be traditional to Steampunk! Submission must be an original flat artwork created by student within the last 2 years (not previously shown at Dorsch).
Students are invited to delve deep into Michigan history with the 2015-2016 Michigan History Day Competition.
