2nd Annual Teen Art Contest Winners Announced

The Monroe County Library System would like to announce the winners of the 2nd Annual Teen Art Contest.

Leanne Brittain, a senior at SMCC, won the grand prize which includes entry into the Juried Art Show sponsored by the Monroe City/County Fine Arts Council.

Doubling the number of entries from last year, there were a number of variations on this year's theme of "We Own The Night." The entries were on display at the Dorsch Memorial Branch Library through mid-May.

Second and third place went to Alex Binder, a sophomore at Monroe Middle College and Maria Ranger Ranger who is in 8th grade at Jefferson Schools respectively.

The contest was open to all 7th through 12th grade students in Monroe County and is for flat artwork like sketches and paintings.  The Monroe County Library System is proud to have another way to support and promote the talent in our community.
